Ecuador's Oil Production Set to Recover

Ecuador’s state oil company Petroecuador is aiming to lift force majeure restrictions on its Oriente crude exports by July 7.

  • The country’s production and exports have been hammered by protests in June but an agreement between the government and indigenous leaders has put an end to protests which should allow production to be ramped up again.
  • The protests resulted in Ecuador’s crude production running at around 50% of the usual 500,000 bpd.
