EdF to Reduce Golfech Nuclear Output Amid High River Temps

EdF may reduce nuclear production at the Golfech nuclear power plant from 30 July until 7 August due to high temperatures forecast on the Garonne river, remit data showed.

  • Restrictions were previously scheduled until 5 August.
  • The facility has a total capacity of 2.6GW consisting of 2 reactors.
  • The latest ECMWF weather forecasts suggested maximum temperatures in the nearby Toulouse to reach 27-37C during the period.
