EGB/Gilt - Higher yields going into the weekend​​​​​

  • EGBs, and Bund have drifted lower this afternoon, after a close to inline US employment data.
  • The session has been less volatile this afternoon, with volumes picking up slightly.
  • Peripheral spreads have been mixed against Germany, Greece is 3.4bps tighter, while Italy and Spain are 4.2bps, and 2.3bps wider respectively.
  • Gilts has traded mostly inline with Europe, and this can be seen in a flat Gilt/Bund spread.
  • Looking ahead, after market, sees ratings:
  • Moody’s on Italy (current rating Baa3; Outlook Negative) & South Africa (current rating: Ba2; Outlook Negative)
  • S&P on Poland (current rating: A-; Outlook Stable) & Turkey (current rating: B+; Outlook Negative)
  • DBRS Morningstar on France (current rating: AA (high), Stable Trend)
