EGB/GILT - Mostly back at pre NFP levels

BOND SUMMARY

A choppy afternoon session post USD NFP, but EGBs generally trade back at pre data level.

  • German 2/10s saw some flatteners interest as well as some short covering in Bund heading into the US NFP.
  • Peripherals are mostly wider, with Italy by 0.7bp, but Greece is actually a touch tighter 1.2bp.
  • Gils have lagged EGBs, but also trade better bid and in green territory.
  • The Gilt Bund spread is 0.8bp wider.
  • Looking ahead, Given the lack of other events or speakers, likely that some US traders will start gearing up for their 4th July bank holiday
  • Although, we still keep some attention on any OPEC news, regarding a possible deal on output pace.
  • Gilt futures are up 0.24 today at 128.26 with 10y yields down -2.4bp at 0.705% and 2y yields down -0.6bp at 0.056%.
  • Bund futures are up 0.50 today at 173.04 with 10y Bund yields down -3.1bp at -0.233% and Schatz yields down -0.5bp at -0.676%
  • BTP futures are up 0.38 today at 152.09 with 10y yields down -2.9bp at 0.773% and 2y yields down -1.2bp at -0.392%
  • OAT futures are up 0.40 today at 159.47 with 10y yields down -2.9bp at 0.094% and 2y yields down -0.1bp at -0.650%.
