BOND SUMMARY: EGB/Gilts: Brexit headlines will dominate again this week. UK PM
Boris Johnson is pushing for a fresh election and will formally ask MPs on
Monday to back a ballot on December 12. The EU, meanwhile, is reportedly ready
to offer a three-month Brexit extension.
- Gilts have traded softer from the open with yields up 1-2bp. Current yield
levels: 2-year 0.531%, 5-year 0.487%, 10-year 0.697%, 30-year 1.185%.
- EGB yields have inched higher, with Italy leading the charge.
- Current bund yields: 2-year -0.651%, 5-year -0.598%, 10-year -0.352%, 30-year
0.186%.
- The French OAT curve has bear steepened with yields 1-2bp higher.
- The long-end of the BTP curve is underperforming slightly with 2s30s trading
up 2bps.
