BOND SUMMARY: /EGBs-GILTS: EGBs and Gilts are little changed in the early going
Tuesday, with data and political developments eyed.
- Gilts off lows; MP Grieve saying it may be difficult for Parliament to block
no-deal Brexit. More likely that the gov't will fall if it pursues no-deal, with
former Conservative ministers set to oppose such a pursuit.
- BOE's Carney speaks in Paris later.
- Books are open on Greece's 7-Yr benchmark syndication, IPT: 2.1% area.
- Periphery spreads fairly steady, BTP 10Y new post-May '18 low v Bunds <188bps.
- ECB's Villeroy said earlier that the bank would act 'if and when needed' based
on incoming data, rather than market indicators (i.e. infl expectations).
- Commission presidency vote for Germany's Von der Leyen later.
- UK labour market survey out later, so too German ZEW survey & EZ trade data.
- Not much action in Short Stg/Euribor. Latest bond futures prices:
* Sep Bund futures (RX) up 1 ticks at 172.34 (L: 172.24 / H: 172.47)
* Sep OAT futures (OA) up 4 ticks at 164.68 (L: 164.57 / H: 164.79)
* Sep Gilt futures (G) steady at at 130.84 (L: 130.71 / H: 130.89)
