CANADA: ELECTION WATCH: Liberal Prime Minister Justin Trudeau's chance of
re-election with majority government Oct. 21 is 36% Monday vs. 37% Friday,
according to CBC poll tracker.  
-Conservatives led by Andrew Scheer have 26% chance of winning government with
minority of seats in House of Commons, same as Friday, CBC poll tracker shows.
Conservatives and Liberals tied with about 34% popular support.
-Liberals Sunday released platform with four years of budget deficits. Shortfall
would widen to C$27.4b in fiscal 2020-21, from C$14b in fiscal 2018-19. Deficit
would be C$21b in 2023-24. Debt: GDP ratio would decline to 30.2% from 30.9%
under a second Liberal mandate. Also proposed a new tax on large internet
companies.
-Party must win majority of 338 seats in House of Commons to pass budgets and
legislation without opposition support.
