CANADA: ELECTION WATCH: Liberal Prime Minister Justin Trudeau's chance of
re-election with majority government Oct. 21 falls to 12% from 19% Fri. in CBC
poll tracker.
-Liberals losing support to Bloc Quebecois and NDP after TV debates.
-Conservatives led by Andrew Scheer have 42% chance of winning government with
minority of seats in House of Commons, up from 38% Fri., CBC poll tracker shows.
Liberals have 39% chance of minority government.
-Liberals and Conservatives tied with about 32% popular support, CBC poll
tracker shows.
-Conservatives released costed platform late Friday as advance voting began; it
affirms plans for lower personal taxes and reduced spending on government
programs and foreign aid. Plans to eliminate deficit by fiscal 2024-25. 
-Campaigning slowed over Thanksgiving holiday weekend; leaders were mostly asked
about how they might cooperate in a minority government. 
-Party must win majority of 338 seats in House of Commons to pass budgets and
legislation without opposition support.
