British Airways has signed a six-year deal to buy over £9mn in carbon removal credits both in the UK and abroad, with the agreement amounting to around 33,000t of credits, it said.

  • Around 33% of British Airways’ emissions reductions by 2050 will come from carbon removals, it added.
  • The airline plans to become net zero by 2050 or sooner.
