EMISSIONS: Denmark Launches €3.8bn CCS Tender

Denmark has launched a DKK 28.7bn (€3.85bn) tender for CCS to ensure carbon capture from 2029 and aid in climate neutrality. The application deadline for the tender process is 25 March 2025, according to Danish energy agency.
• The budget covers costs for the capture, transport, and geological storage of fossil, biogenic, or atmospheric CO2 emissions over a 15-year contract.
• The successful applicants must begin operations no later than 1 Dec 2029.
• The pool is projected to reduce Denmark's annual CO2 emissions by 2.3 mn/t from 2030, equating to about 5% of current emissions.
• The support is paid per stored ton of CO2, the agency added.
