EMISSIONS: Eni Looks to Sell Stake of Planned CCS Division

Eni is in talks with investors to sell a stake of its planned CCS division and has so far attracted five to six non-binding offers, the firm’s CFO Francesco Gattei told Bloomberg. 

  • “We aim to be working with one or two bidders in order to have developments at the beginning of 2025”, Gattei said.
  • In September, Eni and Snam started injecting CO2 in the Ravenna CCS project, with the development able to store as much as 4 mn/t CO2 per year by 2030, the firms said. The project is the first of its kind in Italy.
  • The firm is also involved in the HyNet North West CCS project in the UK and a project in the Netherlands derived from its acquisition of Neptune Energy.
