EMISSIONS: German EUA Auction Clears Sharply Lower On Week

The latest weekly German EUA CAP3 auction cleared lower at €67.30/ton CO2e, compared with the previous auction at €69.71/ton CO2e on 22 Nov, according to EEX.

  • The cover ratio stood at 1.79 compared with the previous auction at 2.15.
  • The mean price stood at €68.36/MWh from €71.05/MWh in the previous auction and the median price stood at €67.25/MWh from €69.52/MWh.
  • There was a total of 26 bids, with 23 successful from 23 bids in the auction last week.
  • EU ETS Dec24 is currently slightly down on the day as forecasts for milder weather in NW Europe and falling TTF are weighing on the contract, with allowances down by around 2.4% on the week.
