COMMODITIES
COMMODITIES: Energy prices performing strongly today, with WTI and Brent crude
futures higher by 1.2% and 1.5% respectively - partially buoyed by the softening
USD since the beginning of the week and following the unexpectedly large draw in
inventories as per yesterday's API update. Oil's rise is helping buoy
commodity-tied FX slightly, with CAD outperforming in G10 space.
Price action is less exciting for metals, with gold, silver and palladium
modestly higher (again likely lifted by softening USD) but platinum
underperforms the rest of the complex, down 0.2% ahead of the NY crossover and
COMEX open.
