LNG: Energy Transfer Agree 20 Year LNG Supply Deal with Chevron

LNG

Energy Transfer LNG agreed a 20 year sale and purchase agreement with Chevron to supply 2mtpa of LNG from the Lake Charles project in Louisiana.

  • The LNG will be supplied on a free-on-board basis and the price will include a fixed liquefaction charge and a gas supply component indexed to Henry Hub.
  • "We believe that Lake Charles is the most compelling LNG project on the Gulf Coast and we continue to make significant progress towards full commercialization of this project," said Tom Mason, president of Energy Transfer LNG.
  • The Lake Charles project would benefit from direct links to Energy Transfer's Trunkline pipeline connected to multiple basins, including the Haynesville, the Permian and the Marcellus Shale.
  • The 16.5mtpa project, in development since 2015, has not yet agreed enough contracts to move ahead with the proposed facility, Reuters said.
