Eni Plans FID On Livorno Refinery Conversion By Autumn

Eni plans to take the financial investment decision on converting its Livorno refinery into a biofuels plants by autumn, Giuseppe Ricci, COO for energy evolution, said.

  • If approved, Livorno biofuels plant would have capacity of 500,000 tons/yr, as margins for biodiesel are higher than for regular diesel, Ricci said.
  • Company is also working on a revamp of its Venice biofuels plant to give it more flexibility in terms of feedstock.
  • Eni is also planning to lower utility costs to support refining margins, which it forecasts to rise by $1/bbl to $8/bbl this year.
