Equinor’s Power Generation Rises 14.4% YoY in 2Q24

Equinor’s global power generation increased to 1.083TWh in 2Q 2024, up from 947GWh in the same period a year earlier, driven by increased renewables output, the firm said.

  • Renewables output in the second quarter this year rose to 655GWh, up from 345GWh a year earlier.
  • The increase in renewables output was mainly driven by production increases of onshore wind output in Brazil and Poland.
  • Full commissioning of the Dogger Bank A offshore wind farm in the UK is scheduled during the first half of next year.
  • Gas-to-power generation declined to 428GWh in Q2, from 602GWh last year.
