22121.73 and the TOPIX down 20.16 pts or -1.29% at 1538.61. China's SHANGHAI

closed up 41.307 pts or +1.38% at 3025.981.

- European equities are trading mixed, with the German Dax up 80.79 pts or

+0.66% at 12391.72, FTSE 100 down 4.03 pts or -0.07% at 6180.46, CAC 40 down

7.96 pts or -0.16% at 4929.04 and Euro Stoxx 50 up 10.63 pts or +0.33% at
