TURKEY: Erdogan Pledges to Boost Long-Range Missile Program

  • President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has pledged to boost Turkey’s long-range missile program, Bloomberg report, following comments late yesterday where he said “We have decided to strengthen our stock of missiles with a range of 800 kilometers or more and to accelerate our missile development program for ranges of 2,000 kilometers and beyond.”
  • Dunya run a piece in which they note that interest in money market, equity and FX funds has sent investment funds soaring. They say fund market size, which attracted 1 million new investors in 2024, reached TRY 5trln, though citing analysts the newspaper add that the appeal of such funds will decrease after rate cuts as equity and debt funds will come to the fore.
  • There are no major data releases scheduled for today. Unemployment rate and industrial production figures for November are due Friday.
