Escalating Korean Tensions Have Little Impact So Far

ASIA
  • South Korea says North Korea has launched a ballistic missile toward its eastern waters - which the Japanese coastguard says has likely already fallen and NHK most recently says could have been several ballistic missiles. North Korea say the move is a countermeasure to South Korean exercises.
  • It builds tensions after missile tests earlier this morning/yesterday (depending on timezone) with S Korea scrambling F-35 aircraft in response to N Korea aircraft between the two.
  • Relatively little reaction despite the escalation though - USDJPY starts to belatedly dip more notably, but still up on the day having cleared 147 on US CPI.
