Estonia sees no risk to Gas Supply Following Pipeline Outage

Estonian Energy company Eesti Gaas does not expect any risks to gas supply following the shutdown of the Balticconnector pipeline, according to a company email reported by Bloomberg.

  • This applies to supply for customers in both the Baltic States and in Finland.
  • “We will figure out the delivery plan for the upcoming months according to the development [of the pipeline],” the Energy company said. “Eesti Gaas cooperates with both major terminals in the region and can cover customers’ gas demand”.
  • Finnish authorities have located the damaged area in the Balticconnector undersea gas pipeline that was noticed on 8 October and are proceeding on the assumption that it was a deliberate act of destruction.
