EU April Natgas Demand Down 8% YoY

European natural gas demand fell to 256TWh in April, down from 278.3TWh in April last year and below the 2019-2021 average of 320.7TWh, Bruegel data showed.

  • Demand was also down on the month from 333TWh in March.
  • European natural gas demand has been consistently below levels seen in the previous years since February. Demand in January exceeded 2023 levels.
  • Latest natgas demand figures in Europe show, the region is on track for meeting the RePowerEU targets by 2030.
