EU Daily Renewables Forecast: Wind Output Remains Low

Forecasts for wind output in central western and northern Europe have been revised slightly lower with seasonally lower output across Europe. Solar PV output is expected to remain relatively strong with output in France, with German output to ease back next week according to spotrenewables.

  • German combined onshore and offshore wind output forecasts have been modestly revised up on the day but remains seasonally low. Wind output is forecast to range between 672MW to 14.58GW in the period until 14 September. German solar PV output is forecast at around 21-25GW during peak-load hours this week, load factors of around 38-44%, before easing back next week.
  • Forecasts for solar PV output in France have been modestly revised down for the period until 14 September to range between 5.5-7.7GW during peak-load hours. Forecasts for wind output remained stable on the day.
  • French power demand has been revised up and is forecast to range between 45.3-53.6GW on 8-14 September, RTE data show.
  • Wind output forecasts for Norway have been stable at 801MW-2.3GW during base-load hours in the next nine days.
  • The latest weather outlook is largely unchanged with above normal temperatures expected across Europe throughout the two-week forecast.
