LNG

European LNG sendout has risen this week up to the highest since May 5 to 477mcm/d on Nov 28 compared to an average for the previous week of 401mcm/d amid colder weather in Europe. The number of ships waiting to deliver to Europe has greatly reduced as ships deliver into northern Europe or head off to Asia or Brazil according to ICIS.

  • The Maran Gas Efessos has been waiting in the Med for seven weeks and is the longest-waiting tanker near Europe. It may now be heading to France to deliver.
  • LNG at sea for at least 20 days has however risen again this week back above the previous five year range up to 4.35m metric tonnes according to Bloomberg.
  • Approximately 78 cargoes are expected to deliver into NW Europe during November with 60% originating from the US.
