The EU is still waiting for Hungary to agree to the blocs sixth sanctions package against Russian oil:

  • Lithuanian Foreign Minister Gabrielius Landsbergis said today “the whole union is being held hostage by one member state, we have to agree, we cannot be held hostage” referring to Hungary’s refusal to sign a deal despite being offered exemptions and funding.
  • The group had hoped that talks over the weekend would bring a resolution by today. German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock said this morning, "I don’t expect the next EU sanctions package on Russia to be agreed today……I am confident that we will find agreement in the coming days”
