EU Power Demand to Recover in 2H 2024

European power demand is forecast to increase by 24TWh year on year in the second half of this year, after sluggish demand recovery in the first half of this year according to ICIS.

  • EU power demand in the first half of this year increased only by 1%, or 11TWh, on the year.
  • European power prices in 2H 2024 are expected to see a smaller year on year decline than seen in the first half of this year. French power prices are forecast to average €68.66/MWh in H2 2024, down by 21% on the year.
