POWER: EU PPA Prices on Track to Rise on Month, Up 16% on the Year So Far

The average price of European PPAs so far in February is on track to rise higher compared to the average price in January, with average costs over 1 January-13 February up by around 16.7% on year, according to data from Pexapark. Closer in, PPA prices dropped on 13 February from the previous session supported by decreases in the EU energy complex and could continue downward today amid sustained declines in TTF and German power.
- EU PPA prices averaged around €53.11/MWh over 1-13 February up from €52.17/MWh across January.
- On the year, PPA costs have averaged around €52.43/MWh over 1 January-13 February 2025, rising sharply from €44.91/MWh over the same period in 2024.
- On the day, prices moved down to €52.04/MWh on 13 February from €53.54/MWh on 12 February. This is the lowest price since 4 February and below the settled price of PPA costs on 31 January.
- PPA prices in the UK, Portugal, Spain, Germany, Netherlands, France, Poland, Nordics and Italy all fell. The sharpest declines were recorded in the UK and Germany.
- Solar PPA prices dropped by 2.91% on the day, while offshore dropped by 5.86% and Onshore by 4.28%.
- Germany Base Power MAR 25 down 3.8% at 95.36 EUR/MWh
- EUA DEC 25 down 0.6% at 77.6 EUR/MT
- TTF Gas MAR 25 down 4.8% at 48.895 EUR/MWh
Rotterdam Coal MAR 25 down 2.6% at 97.75 USD/MT
