US VIEW: /EU/UK: Barclays economists including Michael Gapen said that "incoming
data continue to signal a healthy global economy. This positive growth outlook
seems to be dominating for now over the many political uncertainties."
- They also said that "attempts to form a German government, Catalonia's vote,
Brexit negotiations and the US tax plans are likely to make further headlines in
the coming weeks."
- "Next week's OPEC decisions on its output limits, amid robust oil prices but
also domestic uncertainty in Saudi Arabia, will be watched closely by energy
markets," they said.
- "Recent meetings minutes suggest the Fed will pause after a likely December
hike, while revealing an internal ECB policy debate likely to intensify," they
added.
