EURO-DOLLAR
EURO-DOLLAR: EUR/USD closed above $1.1400 Thursday, last dealing at $1.1402, 5
pips lower on the day.
- The pair was lifted by broader dollar weakness on Thursday as the DXY moved
away from its recent highs and the USD became yesterday's major loser, moving
lower after Wednesday's month-end/SOMA inspired gains, despite a positive
session on Wall St.
- EUR initially benefited from the spillover of positive news re: the progress
in Brexit negotiations, although this was played down from both sides of the
channel.
- Bulls will try to retake the Oct 25 high at $1.1432, which would open up
resistance at $1.1440. On the downside, bears look for a break below yesterday's
low/Oct 31 low at $1.1309/02 in order to regain control.
- The docket for the rest of the week is rather thin and focuses on addresses
from ECB's Nowotny, Rehn, Smets and Stournaras in Athens later today, with final
EZ M'fing PMI data also due.
