EUR22bln of EGB supply seen today

EGB SUMMARY

Bunds have traded in a narrow 30-tick range today, remaining well within yesterday's range. At writing we are trading at the bottom of day's range. There has been little in the way of new news to move the docket but there has been a lot of demand for EGBs with a number of issues today. A combined EUR22.3bln of EGB supply came to the market today.

  • The largest issue was Italy's EUR10bln launch of a new 15-year Mar-37 BTP. Ireland launched a new long 10-year Oct-31 bond for EUR5.5bln and Slovenia launched a new EUR1.75bln 10-year Feb-31 bond and tapped the 30-year for EUR250mln. In addition, Germany allotted EUR4.84bln of the 0% Dec-22 Schatz.
  • Bund futures are down -0.13 today at 177.99 with 10y Bund yields up 1.5bp at -0.591% and Schatz yields up 0.4bp at -0.724%.
  • BTP futures are unch today at 152.03 with 10y yields up 0.7bp at 0.553% and 2y yields up 0.7bp at -0.414%.
  • OAT futures are down -0.10 today at 168.10 with 10y yields up 1.7bp at -0.353% and 2y yields down -0.3bp at -0.685%.
