*Softer UST yields then saw the Euro edge higher to $1.1610. Dips were shallow
and limited to $1.1598, further losses on US TSY yields encouraged more demand,
rate squeezed to $1.1616
*The quiet theme spilled over into Europe, euro-dollar held around $1.1615
*Despite the release of well received German Retail Sales, rate failed to extend
gains
*Minor pullback encountered willing dip buyers ahead of $1.1600, rate squeezed
through the Asia high to $1.1627
*Germany Saxony came in slightly weaker but saw minimal react
*Euro-based short covering started to emerge, linked to the easing of Catalonia
tensions and PM Rajoy backed by parliament. Euro-dollar touched $1.1642 with
offers reported through to $1.1650.
