Europe set to drive Jet Fuel Demand Fall: BNEF

JET FUEL

Passenger jet fuel demand is set to fall marginally by 0.6% to 6.4m b/d on the week to Oct. 16, according to BNEF, driven by a fall in Europe.

  • Jet fuel demand from domestic flights is down 0.4% on the week by 0.4%, while demand from international flights is down by 0.8%.
  • Consumption in Eastern and Western Europe will fall 4.5% and 1.7% respectively for a combined decrease of 37.5k b/d, BNEF said,
  • US passenger numbers from Sep. 30-Oct. 6 grew 1.5% week-on-week.
  • Domestic flights in China are set to rise by 15.3% in the next four weeks, based on current scheduling. However, this is subject to change as China often cuts flights at short notice.
