European Gas Edges Back from Earlier Gains

European natural gas prices have risen on the prospect of a late-winter cold snap but have failed to hold up earlier gains when they were up over 5%.

  • Prices had fallen to an 18-month low late last week.
  • Europe is well-supplied with gas, with flows from Norway rebounding after recent outages.
  • The focus for European gas is now refilling stocks ahead of next winter when weather may not be as favourable as this year.
  • TTF MAR 23 up 2.7% at 50.39€/MWh
