European Gas Injections Start Season Near Normal Levels

European gas storage net injections have started the season near normal levels to maintain total European storage over 20 percentage points above the five year average despite cool weather in Europe this week.

  • Net European storage injections were up at 898GWh/d on 12 Apr compared to the five year average of 1010GWh/d.
  • European gas in storage is up to 56.06% according to GIE data from 12 Apr compared to the five year average of 35.2%.
  • Storage in Germany is at 161.14Wh (64.58% full), Italy is at 115.76TWh (59.84%), Netherlands at 84.13TWh (59.48%), Austria at 64.63TWh (66.67%) and France at 38.1TWh (28.52%).
  • German gas consumption last week rose 7.4% on the week but was still 10.3% below the five year average.
    • TTF MAY 23 down -0.7% at 41.81€/MWh
    • TTF WIN 23 up 0.3% at 56.7€/MWh
