European Gas Maintenance Update

The start of a second round of annual maintenance at Norwegian gas facilities is limiting natural gas supplies to Europe. Parallel, several gas terminals and fields in the UK are also undergoing yearly maintenance, remit data show.

  • The Troll field added another three days of works to the initial planned maintenance extending to 16 August (17.5mcm/d) while additional maintenance has been extended until 6 Aug (12mcm/d) and the exact duration remains uncertain. The field will also undergo an unplanned outage on 4-5 August, limiting supplies by 5.5mcm/d. From 16-18 August, another planned maintenance will limit supply by 23.5mcm/d and by 5.5mcm/d on 18-19 August.
  • Yearly maintenance at the Kollsnes processing plant will limit output by 10mcm/d on 1-21 Aug.
  • Norwegian pipeline supplies to Europe are slightly higher today 312.3mcm/d.
  • In the UK, works the St Fergus gas terminal until 15 August will limit output by 26.8mcm/d. The Perenco Bacton gas terminal will return on 15 August. The Bacton SEAL terminal has gone under maintenance on Thursday and is scheduled to return on 7 August. The St Fergus terminal has also started maintenance yesterday until 29 August.
  • The Greater Britannia field is scheduled to return today. The planned halt at the Cygnus field will end 13 August.
