European Gasoline Exports Served a Boost

OIL PRODUCTS

European gasoline shipments are gaining in May after persistent weakness through 2023 according to Vortexa data compiled by Bloomberg.

  • Gasoline and blending component exports from Europe surged to about 1.35 million bpd in the first 10 days of May – 14% higher than the same period a month prior.
  • European shipments to the US have slipped however after reaching an 11-month high in April. US stockpiles remain weak ahead of the summer driving season which is expected to prompt higher demand in the near term.
  • Along with Canada, Europe is one of the biggest gasoline suppliers into the US East Coast.
  • Shipments to WAF and Latin America have been stable while flows to North Africa have risen.
