Europe’s Refinery Output Up 1% in Aug

European oil refinery output rose 1% on the month in August to 9.73m b/d, according to Euroilstock data and reported via Reuters.

  • Although up on the month, refinery output across the continent was 4.4% below the levels in August 2022.
  • Gasoline output was up 1.6% on the month to 2.4m b/d, but down 0.7% on August 2022.
  • Meanwhile middle distillate output was flat month on month at 5m b/d, but down 4% on the year.
  • Fuel oil saw a fall on the month, down 2.4% to 837m b/d, while the year-on-year fall was even greater, down 8.8%.
  • Total crude intake in August reached 9.1m b/d, 2% below July's levels and down 6.6% on the previous year.
