ExxonMobil expects 1m b/d output from Guyana by 2028

OIL

ExxonMobil expects Guyana to reach a stable 1m b/d of oil production by 2028, up from zero in under 10 years, according to Platts.

  • Analysts at S&P Global Commodity Insights expect crude production from Guyana to reach 1.16m b/d by 2030 and almost 1.4m b/d by the late 2030s.
  • However, gas produced is likely to continue to be reinjected for the time being, although a floating LNG facility in conjunction with a liquids production facility could be an option in the future.
  • Guyana’s Liza field produces around 580 mcf/d of gas, of which over 500 mcf/d is reinjected.
