EURO-DOLLAR: Fairly quiet session in Asia, EUR/USD contained within a relatively
tight range of $1.1680-97 as market settled into what has become typical ahead
of US NFP. Even the imposition of US trade tariffs on $34bn of Chinese, with
more in the pipeline, caused little FX reaction, the action widely expected.
Option related resistance ahead of $1.1700 suggested, the level holding E2.07bn
of expiries for today's NY cut. A move above expected to meet next resistance at
$1.1720(Jul5 high, Jun26 high; 61.8% $1.1851-1.1509). Support $1.1680 ahead of
$1.1660/50. For US NFP, market median seen at 195k. Trump tweets ahead will be
watched with interest. Average hourly earnings expected at 0.3%. ECB Nouy, EU
Dombrovski speak at Austrian cenbank conference this morning.
