A press briefing with top U.S. intelligence officials has resulted in a degree of risk aversion, as Director of National Intelligence & FBI Director flagged Iranian and Russian attempts to disrupt U.S. presidential election. Resultant moves have been relatively limited, with little more to breathe some life into price action. The greenback is the best performer in G10 FX space, with the Antipodeans lagging behind.

  • In Asia, USD/CNH posted a leg higher in sync with broader demand for the dollar, punching through the CNH6.65 mark. USD/KRW popped higher at the re-open, moving away from multi-month lows printed yesterday.
  • U.S. initial jobless claims, existing home sales, EZ consumer confidence and speeches from Fed's Barkin & Kaplan, ECB's Panetta, BoE's Bailey & Haldane and Norges Bank's Olsen take focus from here. The last U.S. presidential debate of this electoral cycle will also provide interest.
