FEC Commissioner Rebukes Trump On Election Delay Tweet

Federal Election Commissioner Ellen Weintraub tweets: "No, Mr. President. No. You don't have the power to move the election. Nor should it be moved. States and localities are asking you and Congress for funds so they can properly run the safe and secure elections all Americans want. Why don't you work on that?"

• Election Assistance Commission commissioner Ben Hovland states support for Weintraub, tweeting to the FEC commissioner "This is the real conversation. Election officials are concerned about funding, concerned about what elections look like without it, and frankly the fact that they say to me, they don't have time for politics, they need to get the job done, and they need the resources to do it."
