Fernandez Claims Govt. & IMF Progressing With Understandings

  • Argentina: President Alberto Fernandez said Thursday that the government is progressing in “understandings” with IMF staff toward a new program. Fernandez also called on the IMF to publish a self evaluation of the stand-by arrangement it approved for Argentina’s previous government in 2018 before his government signs a new deal with IMF.   • Fernandez reiterated that officials from the Economy Ministry and central bank will travel to Washington to continue talks, noting that Economy Minister Martin Guzman will supervise virtually.
