Fidesz MPs Push Back Against “Pro-war” European Parliament

  • Fidesz MEPs have pushed back against the European Parliament resolution voted through yesterday – and also placed the blame with left-wing lawmakers inside Hungary. MEPs stated those that supported the resolution were “pro-war”.
  • The government continue to expect consumer price inflation to ease after mandatory price cuts were pressed through onto retailers – effective yesterday.
  • Under the new rules, those with revenues north of HUF 1bln will have to offer 20 products across a number of categories at least 10% below the previous lowest price of the prior month. Categories mainly cover staples including milk, bread, pasta, fruit and others.
