Finance And Economy Ministers Speak At Mexico Outlook Event

MEXICO
  • USDMXN holds a very narrow range overnight as last week’s geopolitical tensions continue to ease. As highlighted previously, USDMXN’s inability to close back above 17.3860, the Jan 17 high, could be a bearish development. This level remains an important reversal trigger, which would be bullish if broken. On the downside, initial support lies at 16.8167, the 20-day EMA.
  • In the calendar today, Finance Minister Rogelio Ramirez de la O and Economy Minister Buenrostro will speak at an event hosted by the Council of the Americas in Mexico City titled “Mexico 2024-2030: Unleashing the Country’s Economic Potential.” The Finance Minister will speak at 1545BST(1045ET), followed by Economy Minister Buenrostro at 1815BST.
  • On the data front, weekly international reserves figures will be released at 1600BST(1100ET). Attention then turns to bi-weekly CPI data for the first half of April, due tomorrow.
