Finance Committee Open Hearing at 0800 BST

RIKSBANK

From 0800-1000 BST, the Riksbank participates in an open hearing in front of the Riksdag Finance Committee, covering current monetary policy.

  • The hearing begins with presentations from Governor Thedéen and First Deputy Governor Breman, after which all 5 members of the Executive Board will participate in a Q&A.
  • The hearing will provide insight into the Riksbank's current thinking following the higher-than-expected inflation last Friday.
  • Additionally, there may be some discussion on the Riksbank's "consultation response" to the National Debt Office currency exposure plans (i.e. selling SEK to reduce FX exposure) released a few weeks ago.

  • The SEK starts today slightly softer following an yesterday's outperformance, with EURSEK and NOKSEK seen drifting away from yesterday's lows.
