Finland Faces Fuel Supply Tightness on Strikes

Industrial action in Finland reduced exports from the country’s terminals and could further cut supply to filling stations if they continue, Neste said.

  • Port have not loaded any cargoes since 11 March, Neste said.
  • “If prolonged, the strike will significantly affect customer deliveries and availability of fuel in Neste’s station network,” the firm said.
  • Strikes have been extended until the start of April.
  • The Finnish Transport Workers Union AKT has agreed that critical fuel deliveries will continue during the industrial action.
  • Neste’s 206kbpd Porvoo refinery is operating at minimum rates and can only continue “essential work” during the duration of the strikes, the firm said earlier this month.
