FinMin Says NZD At These Levels Is Not A Concern

Fresh session highs made in NZD/USD on a bout of DXY weakness, while comments from New Zealand Finance Minister Robertson also helped support a bid.

  • Robertson said there is no great discomfort with the level of NZD, and that the New Zealand economy is stronger than expected. Robertson did however say there was some unease with debt to income ratios.
  • A retreat in the US dollar and the comments from Robertson have given NZD/USD a bid, the pair last up 16 pips at 0.7128 after rising as high at 0.7141; the highest level since April 2018.
