Firmer & Flatter

AUSSIE BONDS

The curve has bull flattened since Wednesday's Sydney close, aided by the dynamic witnessed in the U.S. Tsy space. The firming of both YM & XM has extended since the Sydney re-open as local participants react to the overnight moves, with both contracts taking out their respective Wednesday highs. That leaves YM +4.0 and XM +6.5, while the 10- to 12-Year zone of the cash ACGB curve outperforms.

  • The latest scheduled round of ACGB purchases from the RBA will take place today, while RBA Assistant Governor (Economics) Ellis will speak on "Innovation and Dynamism in the Post-pandemic World" in front of the Committee for the Economic Development of Australia.
