Firms 1Y Inflation Expectations Eased Further In June – Atlanta Fed

  • Atlanta Fed Business Inflation Expectations for June showed firms 1y ahead estimates easing from 2.9% to 2.7% for its softest since Apr’21.
  • The decline off past highs is similar to that seen in the U.Mich consumer inflation expectations survey for 1Y although with the latter still at 4.2% there is a notable difference between the two.
  • Long-term measures are very similar though, with the Atlanta Fed’s BIE showing firms’ 5-10Y expectations remaining relatively unchanged at 3.0% vs the U.Mich equivalent nudging a tenth higher to 3.1%.
