First LNG Cargo for Wilhelmshaven LNG Terminal Due January 2

LNG

Germany’s new Wilhelmshaven FSRU is set to receive its first LNG cargo January 2, according to ICIS vessel tracking.

  • The Maria Energy is chartered by Germany's Uniper. It loaded from US Calcasieu Pass December 20.
  • The Wilhelmshaven LNG import facility was officially opened last weekend. It is based around the Hoegh Esperanza floating storage and regasification vessel, which can receive, store and regasify cargoes and send them into the onshore pipe network.
  • When the Hoegh Esperanza arrived last week, it had some LNG onboard of its own, reloaded from Spain but this marks the first cargo since the initial loading.
