Flexible Power Contracts to Boost Power Supply by 1-2GW: Swedish TSO

Swedish TSO Svenska Kraftnat believes that flexible power contracts could increase the amount of power supplied to the grid by 1-2GW, although further work is needed before it is a reality, according to the TSO.

  • The TSO is assessing two types of agreements:
  • 1. conditional agreement, where a customer must be prepared for us to limit the effect of operational conditions if required.
  • 2. Dynamic agreement, where we guarantee a certain effect for a period, then this is renewed gradually and based on what is reliable.
  • These agreements could aid in power supply as the network is expanded, according to the TSO.
